Last year the event raised nearly £98,000 in a single day.  The best result in our deanery was produced by Reed, who raised £1,820.

The idea is that people are sponsored to walk or cycle to visit as many churches as possible during the day. Half of the money raised is retained by the Trust to help fund repairs to churches and the other half comes straight back to the churches in our Benefice (Barkway, Barley, Reed and Buckland). The event takes place nationwide on the second Saturday in September being on Saturday 12th September 2020 between 9.00am and 5.00pm.

This year, the event presents a wonderful opportunity to raise much needed funds for our parish churches, where income has fallen because there have been fewer collections at service and no fund raising after the onslaught of Covid. Although some churches may well be closed, there will be opportunity to look at the exterior of churches and take photographs whilst possibly meeting other people at social distance of course!

Why not put the date in your diary now and ask for further details as below?
